A scalable reporting dashboard

The eDNA laboratory (eDNA Frontiers) needed a scalable way to share results with clients and collaborators and had become frustrated with the manual effort required. We worked with their team to design and develop a secure and centralised eDNA Viewer that turns curated eDNA data into interactive maps, analytical tools, diversity metrics, and visual insights.

Functionality for all stakeholders

eDNA Viewer is designed as a functional tool to meet the various needs of different data owners. Researchers and analysts can use the Viewer as a technical tool for detailed dataset exploration, output validation, and publication-ready summaries, while managers and other stakeholders can access insights for reporting, communication and decision making.

A customised solution to support growth, security and access

The eDNA Viewer brings together advanced bioinformatics and scalable cloud infrastructure to support long-term, secure access to eDNA datasets. Public datasets and projects are open and can be explored by all users, while secure authentication is required for project specific data only visible to registered users. To achieve the needed performance and sustainability we selected a bespoke tech stack that built on existing in-house capability which allows the eDNA Frontiers team to evolve the dashboard and reporting functionality over time.
